Dr. Glik is a professional with more than 30 years of experience in the health care field. She currently serves as a Professor in the Department of Community Health Sciences at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), School of Public Health. She is also the Director of the UCLA Health and Media Research Group at the School of Public Health. Notable past positions held by Dr. Glik include Professor of Health Promotion and Education at the University of South Carolina, School of Public Health; and Instructor in the Department of Sociology at the University of Maryland in Cantonsville, MD.

Dr. Glik has served as a Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator for numerous research, training, policy and planning, and media campaign projects with various organizations, including the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services for Disaster and Bioterrorism; Los Angeles County Department of Public Health; California Department of Health Services, Immunization Branch; National and Southern California March of Dimes; Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; San Bernardino County; California Families and Children First Commission, Smoking Cessation Intervention; State of California Department of Managed Health Care; United Nations Children's Fund and United States Agency for International Development; National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine; and the Southern California Injury Prevention Research Center, among others. Her research experience spans a wide range of subject areas including bioterrorism and disaster preparedness, risk communication, immunization services, maternal and child health, public health messaging, community health education, program and policy evaluation, managed care, injury prevention, complimentary and alternative medicine, qualitative and quantitative survey techniques, disease surveillance, and tobacco control.

Dr. Glik has over 100 research publications including peer-review journal articles, book chapters, book reviews, government and technical reports, and abstract proceedings at healthcare and scientific forums for research, program, and policy audiences. She is an active member of several professional national and international organizations and serves at a leadership capacity on multiple committees. In addition, Dr. Glik is a peer-reviewer for twelve national and international journals.

Throughout her distinguished career, Dr. Glik has been the recipient of multiple awards and honors for teaching and research including the Mohan Singh Award and the Annual Materials Award from the American Public Health Association; the Department of Health and Human Services Secretary's Award for Innovations in Health Promotion; the New Faculty Award from the UCLA Public Health Student Association; the John J. McAlpin Award Grant from the Departments of Psychiatry and Mental Hygiene at Johns Hopkins University Medical Institutions; as well as several expert appointments with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, International Health Programs Office.

Dr. Glik received her Doctor of Science degree in behavior sciences from the School of Hygiene and Public Health, Johns Hopkins University. Additionally, she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Barnard College, NY.
