Dr. Richardson is a professional with over ten years of experience in the health care field. He currently serves as a Preventive Medicine Resident Physician with the University of California San Diego and San Diego State University. In addition, he is an epidemiologist for the San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency, working to compile and analyze data on the trends of diabetes and obesity. Notable past positions held by Dr. Richardson include Internal Medicine Resident Physician at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC; Anesthesiology Resident Physician at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY; Internal Medicine Intern Physician at St. Lukeʼs Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York, NY.

In addition to specializing in internal medicine, preventive medicine, and anesthesiology, Dr. Richardsonʼs diverse experiences in health care include assisting with physician pay-for- performance reports from practice management systems, as well as leading quality improvement and quality assessment initiatives. He has also collaborated on studies of diabetes care and related health disparities data, and has developed and implemented diabetes clinical guidelines. Prior research experience for Dr. Richardson includes guiding county coalitions involved in the Ozarks Health Heart Project, a research project aimed at reducing cardiovascular disease in Southeast Missouri. Dr. Richardson also assisted in developing guidelines for increased knowledge of sickle cell disease and trait in Southeast Missouri, and provided evaluation of the Missouri Sickle Cell Anemia Program. He has specialized knowledge of health policy issues related to prostate cancer and health disparities, serving as data manager on research studies seeking to understand cancer screening compliance rates through large-scale patient recruitment and focus group analyses among the local population.

Dr. Richardson received his medical degree from New York Medical College and graduated from the Medical Education Certificate Program at the St. Louis University School of Medicine. Additionally, he obtained his Master of Public Health in epidemiology from the St. Louis University School of Public Health and his Bachelor of Science in mathematics at the University of Notre Dame.
