• Robert N. McLay, M.D., Ph.D. joins the Health Professional Advisory Board at Advance Health Solutions. Dr. McLay is a decorated psychiatrist with extensive experience as a clinical researcher conducting pharmacological and psychological therapies, cost-benefit and utilization reviews, developing screening processes for post-deployment mental health assessments, and developing virtual reality-based treatment modalities for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
• M. Alan Brookhart, Ph.D. joins our Health Professional Advisory Board. As a biostatistician and epidemiologist with over ten years experience as a health care researcher, Dr. Brookhart brings his substantial knowledge-base in developing and applying epidemiologic methods for observational studies of pharmacotherapies using large health care databases, focusing in particular on the determinants of physician prescribing and patient adherence.
• An abstract submitted to the International Anesthesia Research Society entitled "Stellate Ganglion Block Offers the First Biologic Treatment for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder: Preliminary Results and Postulated Mechanism of Action" authored by Eugene G. Lipov, M.D., Maryam Navaie, Dr.P.H., Eric T. Stedje-Larsen, M.D., and Kevin Burkhardt, B.S., Jessica C. Smith, M.P.H., Leighla H. Sharghi, B.S.N., M.P.A., and Anita H. Hickey, M.D. will be presented at the annual meeting in Boston, Massachusetts.
